Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club
Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit organization that offers competitive and recreational soccer leagues and teams for youth in the City of Santa Cruz and surrounding areas. Established in 1982, we offer programs in the fall, winter, and spring.
Free Soccer Play Date On Friday, May 3, 2024
The Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club is hosting a free soccer play date on Friday, May 3rd at Depot Park for kids born in 2016/17 (referred to as "U9" regardless of actual age) and kids born in 2015 (referred to as "U10" regardless of actual age). All U9 and U10 players are welcome, although this play date is particularly for players who are interested in trying out for the competitive Jaws and Sharks teams. The play date is separate from the competitive tryouts and is designed for the kids to have fun, play some soccer, and feel more comfortable at the actual tryouts. The Club highly recommends participation for players who are not currently members of a Jaws or Sharks team and would like to be.
The play date schedule at Depot Park (119 Center Street, Santa Cruz, CA 95060) on Friday, May 3rd is as follows:
Girls (Jaws) born in 2015, 2016, and 2017: 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Boys (Sharks) born in 2015: 5:00 - 6:00 pm
Boys (Sharks) born in 2016 and 2017: 6:00 -7:00 pm
All players should wear shin guards, socks that cover the shin guards, and cleats/turf shoes. All players should bring water (or sports drink).

The play date is designed for members of the Santa Cruz City Youth Soccer Club and players unaffiliated with a different club’s competitive program. If your child is a competitive player for a different club, please get consent from that club’s director of coaching or appropriate person before registering and attending.
Tryouts for the 2024 Fall Competitive Season
The SCCYSC would like to announce our upcoming 2024 Fall Competitive Jaws/Sharks team tryouts being held in May and early June. Each age group will have two scheduled tryout dates. It is highly recommended players attend both tryouts in order to be considered for a roster spot on one of the teams. The age groups are based on birth year. Please use the following link to pre-register for tryouts https://go.teamsnap.com/forms/427290. It is free to register and tryout. Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time to check in. Players should wear shin guards, socks that cover the shin guards, and cleats/turf shoes; players should bring water/sports drink.
